Work Hard! Play Hard! Give Back! As a company, Henderson Engineers is committed to serving its communities through giving, education, and outreach through several in-house programs and initiatives. Henderson’s community service program provides opportunities for employees to participate in community service projects throughout the year. The program provides charitable organizations in our communities with much-needed support through hands-on volunteer time while also creating team building opportunities for our employees. The Henderson Engineers Foundation assists local and national charity groups and non-profit organizations through employee matching contributions and in-kind donations. The Foundation has donated to groups such as the Salvation Army, City Union Mission, Toys for Tots, Habitat for Humanity, Lighthouse, Hope Center, American Red Cross, and the Community Blood Center, among others. Additionally, we at Henderson Engineers have prioritized several initiatives that directly support our community in addition to educating students in engineering and the built environment. Through these initiatives, some of which are listed below, we promote and encourage mentorship, diversity, and a strong community presence.

  • Architecture, Construction, and Engineering (ACE) Mentor Program
Henderson is proud to be a host of this national after-school program for high school juniors and seniors. The program introduces architecture, construction, and engineering careers with engaging hands-on group projects.
  • Olathe School District’s 21st Century Program
During a pre-professional technical internship, a student in this district near our headquarters spends 20 days at Henderson Engineers exploring the field of engineering through hands-on learning and observation.
  • Corporate Challenge
Each year Henderson Engineers encourages employee participation in Corporate Challenge, a multi-sport competition that encourages team camaraderie while supporting charity.
  • Collegiate Scholarships
Henderson provides a number of scholarships for Architectural Engineering students every year.
  • Arts Council of Kansas City
As a donor to this organization, Henderson supports a range of local arts organizations, programs, and artists throughout the area. Additionally, Henderson participates in “Art@Work,” a city-wide arts challenge, and “Now Showing,” a program that provides opportunities for area artists to display their work at local companies.
